The Alzheimers Monitoring System provides a versatile, restraint-free, effective security system to ensure the safety of your wandering residents.

The Alzheimers Monitoring System provides the facility a versatile, restraint-free, effective security system to ensure the safety of your wandering residents. When a resident wearing a transmitter passes through one of the monitored doors, a signal is relayed to a monitoring unit that activates the audio alarm at the nurses’ quarters. A call at the same time is placed to the nurse call system to alert the nursing staff.

Only a resident wearing a transmitter activates the alarm allowing everyone else to move freely through the monitored zone. Staff may also use the keypad to bypass the system long enough to escort a resident through the monitored zone without setting off the alarm. When the time allotted for bypass has elapsed, the system automatically resets itself.

Magnetic locks automatically lock the doors when a wandering resident enters the monitored area, thereby reducing the risk of the resident exiting the facility and minimizing the number of alarm calls your staff would be required to answer. No alarm call is placed under a normal locked situation.

The lightweight, coded transmitter is the centre of the system. When a resident wearing a transmitter passes through a monitored zone, the signal is relayed to a receiver and then to a Monitoring unit, which activates the audio alarm at the zone and any other installed options. Only a resident wearing a transmitter activates the alarm; everyone else can move freely through the monitored zone.

The primary electronics for the Alzheimers Monitoring System are housed within a durable metallic enclosure that is conveniently mounted near the doorway, hallway, or elevator to be monitored. The Monitoring unit has a keypad, which is used to reset the system following an alarm. Staff may also use the keypad to bypass the system long enough to escort a resident through the monitored zone without setting off the alarm. When the time allotted for bypass has elapsed, the system automatically resets itself.

The low system frequency of the system virtually eliminates extraneous signals which may produce interference and, ultimately, false alarms. The system has an anti-tailgate feature which prevents a wandering resident from following behind an authorized exit by rearming the system after the door closes.

Optional annunciators such as Staff Alert Panels, Voice Alarm Panels or On-Site Paging are available to upgrade your monitoring system to maximize your staffs’ response time. The Alzheimers Monitoring System can be expanded as your needs grow.
